Course Description:
Exercise for Clients with Intellectual, Developmental and Neurological Disabilities provides the student with a resource for understanding the underlying causes of IDDs and Neurological Deficiencies as well as recognizing the symptoms and characteristics of each condition.
The course discusses the challenges in presenting exercise training to the target population and outlines the benefits of exercise for those clients.
The course includes specific adjustments and accommodations shown by research to be effective in delivering safe exercise programs to the target clientele. Upon completion the student will have gained and clearer understanding of how to bring the benefits of exercise to people living with Intellectual, Developmental and Neurological Disabilities.
